We are, of course, huge fans of Peel and his Peel Sessions, especially our audio engineer Philipp Spell, who has made it his personal goal to get our tracks played on night-time radio as soon as possible.
We announce the Open Eight Sessions one week in advance on Facebook. We don’t rehearse them – we’re all beyond the age of practising in rehearsal rooms: we just meet in the kitchen, pop into the next room – an 18m2 living room studio – and everyone plays whatever comes to mind. Listening to each other is the most important thing here. Within just under an hour, a stream of music of the here and now emerges, without pauses, relaxed and free, until the session ends together and we return to the kitchen.
Later, we load the best scenes from the Open Eight Sessions in the remaster from Bandcamp. Philipp Spell is responsible for mixing the live sound and, shortly afterwards, presenting the live sound remastered on Bandcamp. Seven euros for the whole album with eight, roughly 50-minute sessions (numbered #A1-A8, the following album with #B1-B8…). You can also download a single session for just two euros. With this, you support our expenses for the technical gear, or enable us to undertake further activities such as concert tours.
